Bonnie Whitman

Bonnie Whitman (Gafney) started her first SAR dog, Sarena, in 1988 while working in Yellowstone National Park. She retired in 2014 after 34 years as a Park Ranger and now lives in Bozeman, MT. Bonnie was actively involved with SAR in Yellowstone National Park and West Yellowstone for over 25 years. She continues with Gallatin County Sheriff Search and Rescue as a member of the Valley Section, and as the Manager for the County SAR Dog team. Her dogs have been active in a wide variety of Search & Rescue and Law Enforcement missions over the years in a variety of locations. Bonnie’s current partner, Sabre, is her fifth working GSD.

Sabre started his career in 2016. He is a focused and intense boy who loves to work and explore new places. He is a kind soul and a social guy with many friends.
